Learning to walk

Not her first steps, but Isla's first solo steps at the beach. She ate sand and rocks while working up the courage to take those steps.

Avocado straight up

Another ear infection in the house! At least tonight I was able to get Isla back to sleep while I was doing squats! Then I went back downstairs to my glass of wine. Ha! So tonight, with one dose of antibiotics in her tummy, she seemed to have an appetite back, and her appetite was for avocadosssss!!!

Off to the Elfin Forest

An incline hike with weight packs (kids!) to get our ski legs back!! Ava and Isla were let free at the top of the mountain, we snacked, Ava played with rocks and Isla wanted to fly, so boy did she ever!! Back to the packs and we head back down, the sun was starting to set, an ocean view and a hot air ballon waaaaaay off in the distance! It was a great hike!

Some late night dress up fun! We had the music turned up and (she) had a dance party. She got her friends all dressed in their party gear! From left to right....Ava, Little baby, Roar the bear, Douglas the dog and Hee Haw the horse.

Thanking Santa

If space wasn't an issue, I probably would've bought this Santa for her (us). She loved looking at him, pointing to the distinctive details that define Santa, and yelling out, "look mama! santa glasses!" She also thanked him for the doll house she got (that was slightly with my encouragement)! She may not like to sit on his lap, but she sure liked to have a conversation with him during an after Christmas sale!

1" of baby hair gone!

First hair cut day!!! She was so excited AND she got pink glitter sprinkled in her hair! She was such a big girl!

New Year's Day 2013

We hiked in the sunshine!! And ate biscotti on the trail, some of us napped while on the trail! Either way.....happy new year!

Stomping in 2013

Pounding air drums, stomping feet, waving the princess wand and eating M & Ms (reward for sharing!) is how we are watching the Rose Parade. Happy new year to all!!
